Jesse Trevino's San Antonio Artist

In Market Square, where I have my retail space on the weekend, there is the Alameda Museo Alameda the nation's largest latino museum and first formal Smithsonian affiliate (www.theamameda.org). On display now is the work of Jesse Trevino.

If you ever have a chance to see his work. Do it.

Jesse is a San Antonio native who studied at the Art Student League in New York City before he was drafted in the Army during the Vietnam war. He was wounded and his right arm was injured (this being his drawing/painting hand). In 1970 he had his right arm up to his elbow amputated because of the excruciating pain caused by the nerve damage.
Jesse has re-trained himself to draw and paint with his left hand. It goes to show you that

as an artist it is as much in the mind and the desire to do art as much whether you are right or left handed.
He has an amazing Photo Realist style that he is best known for.

After I toured his exhibit. I took these photos of his tile work which are all near Market Square.
