Years ago I enjoyed drawing and painting
still life setups.
Foster paperback art books had
a book called Secrets.
It showed a lot about
shadows, reflections, and even
water drops.
I used this book a lot. It made
you observe what you
were drawing or painting and
add that little extra.
When drawing a caricature
looking at a person's face and
seeing features/colors/tones.
It is all just observing what is there.
