Market Square Drawings

Some drawings that I did in past month or
that I did not until now.
This couple is from Florida and are moving
to San Antonio because of work.
He could be with his facial features be
a brother of a fellow caricature artist,
Dan Dunn.
This gentleman is from San Antonio
and I think he is going to cost me more
than what I charge him for the drawing.
He is with a tree cutting business
and I have two trees that have died.
I asked if we could a trade out.

Market Square weekend

Here is a young couple visiting
San Antonio.
The  photo below was a fun drawing.
The guy called me a couple days before
Saturday and said he wanted to propose
to his girl friend and use a caricature to do it.
This is more common than you think.
But you still hear the crowd watching
saying what a creative way to propose.

Past Weekend at Market Square

As a caricature artist doing retail, people get
drawn for many different reasons.
The young in the middle was her 16th birthday.
She wanted to get drawn with her 2 friends.
This boy just wanted a caricature,
This young lad is a Boy Scout and he
won a canoe race that was held earlier
in the day on the San Antonio River.
The boy below is his younger brother.

More Fun at Market Square

Had a good weekend but only took 3 photos.
 This couple visiting San Antonio.
She told me they just got engaged.
This is a family of 4 kids the little ones are twins.
Here are 2 families that wanted to be drawn on
the same sheet of paper.
Now I prefer drawing one face per sheet, because
I can work a little larger on the face and get
a lot features that make that person unique.
Then I think the cost per sheet of paper is the
same whether I draw 1 person or 7 people.
At $10 per face.... I am more than happy to
draw groups.

Last Weekend at Market Square

I got to do a few color caricatures
this weekend.
Most of my work is in Black and White,
so when the customer wants color it's a nice
change of pace.
These young ladies were visiting from China.
The one I drew did not want her glasses on,
so I drew them on the plastic bag....

Market Square Work

Here is some drawings I did a couple of weeks ago.
These 2 ladies are long time friends who were
visiting San Antonio.
These two young ladies are sisters. Like a lot of times,
one does not want to get drawn until they see
what a caricature is.

Different Type of Caricature Gig

Back in 2009 I drew caricatures at an open house
for a new company (Credit Restoration of Texas).
Enjoyed drawing their new clients, guests and
even the employees. Got paid well,
got some more leads for future gigs
 and went home.

Several years later they called and asked if I could
stop by and draw 5 new employees. Even thou
I thought it to a little strange. I did.
Come to find out rather than hanging their
employees photos on the wall they liked
the caricatures.
So, They asked when I could come by and
draw them again with their new employees.
Yesterday I went by and drew the staff.
I told the owner's husband that this is the only
company I would do this for.
If a company treats me right....
I will go that extra mile.

Good Spring Break Week

Spring Break.... Very very good to me.
I was at Market Square for 5 days and had some
good business.
Here are two 7 grade girls who are best friends.
Whenever children asked to be drawn together,
I ask them who gets the drawing.
Sometimes they decide to get drawn separately
and sometimes they say who gets the drawing.
This young couple asked to be drawn.
I am so glad they wanted in color.
Here are 3 young baseball, who were in San Antonio
for a baseball. Hearing the boys begging their dads
if they could be drawn. After about a half hour,
I guess one of the dads finally cracked.

on an all girls weekend.
